Well, we have arranged to swap off years- so last year they were with us for Xmas, this year we get them for Xmas eve and the morning of Xmas- then they go with their mom. We do Thanksgiving every other year with them pretty much the same way. I think it works pretty well- this way the kids don't have to make any choices and they wind up getting twice as many presents (which of course they don't mind... :)

I know it must be tough for you to have to wait to make plans until "they" make theirs... that's annoying to say the least.

Your ex sounds like a piece of work- yikes! Too bad that your daughter misses out on a father because he doesn't see her- the least he could do is arrange for her to go out there or something.... oh well- like you said, at least you get her to yourself.

I have come to the realization that blending families totally sucks! It is the most stressful part of my life... and I allow it to rent out sooooo much space in my head... it's a wonder I haven't completely lost it yet! (or have I?)
